These motors have a bad problem with the plastic intakes cracking on the thermostat housing. They can cause running problems, check engine lights for a po171 which is a lean code, and will cause tie car to over heat. When doing this repair be careful not to drop anything down into the intake. The parts house or local Ford dealer should have the updated manifold.
